Wine & Cheese Party

A wine & cheese party is right up my alley, it sounds like the perfect party to host! Camille Styles hosted this New Year’s Eve wine & cheese party and gives some great tips on how to replicate her beautiful event.
BTW, I LOVE the look of cut open figs!

April Wine

Just some of the red wines that we will be enjoying this month. Last night we drank the Agua de Piedra Malbec. It was a really great wine for under $12! We had it with Earthy Brie & chorizo.
Where do you buy wine? Our Wegmans opened the most amazing wine/liquor store so we can actually pick out wines at the grocery store. So convenient!
Wine Lover?

I just opened up a bottle of Cabernet with my FAVORITE new kitchen tool! (I’ve started drinking 1 glass of red wine every night.)
Quirky.com has created this amazing bottle opener that comes with a beautiful stainless steel pour spout & rubber stopper for leftovers. I love this because I never finish the bottle in 1 night!
Check out Verseur. It is also available at Target stores nationwide & online as well as amazon.com.
P.S. this is THE perfect housewarming gift
Friday Night Wine & Cheese

My husband & I have started this new Friday night tradition. Wine & Cheese! He is home from work today (because of the HURRICANE madness in NYC)…& we just picked out these 2 cheeses from Whole Foods. I LOVE a good cheese tray!
Tonight we will enjoy a blue/roquefort from Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. & a Camembert from NY of all places! So, it is American Cheese night- I cannot wait to try them. & can’t wait to try a new wine as well!
Wine & Cheese Picnic

A perfect fall evening for me would include a bottle of wine, oat crackers and lots of exotic cheeses! LOVE this wine picnic basket..it even holds 2 bottles ;0

Summer Produce

Do you eat healthier in the summer? I always crave a healthier diet once the weather starts to get hot. Maybe because it is not comfortable to carry extra weight? I LOVE fresh produce and am addicted to our local “farmer’s market” here called Produce Junction. One of these days I’ll bring my camera and show you all of the CHEAP, delicious fruits and veggies for sale.
Anyway, this summer I am following somewhat of a mediterranean diet. LOTS of spicy olives…I mean so spicy that they make your eyes tear up and your mouth burn. Fresh corn on the cob, radishes, & legumes. I love romaine salads with red beets, feta cheese, and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
I also really enjoy sitting outside summer evenings with a glass of wine. My husband & I recently enjoyed this amazing Chateau Margaux on Friday night. sooo good!
How about you? Do your cravings change when the weather gets hot? What kinds of fresh produce are you enjoying this summer?
p.s. We almost chose Margaux as Harper’s middle name!
Happy Helper Wine Stoppers

these are ridiculously cute! they would definitely make me less motivated to finish off the entire bottle
